Specialty Mentoring

Specialty Mentors at Life is for Living Mentoring

Empowering unique journeys with tailored support, skills, and heart-centred connection At Life is for Living Mentoring, we believe that every person’s journey is unique — and so is the support they deserve. Our Specialty Mentors service is designed to pair clients with mentors who bring specific skills, passions, lived experience, and professional strengths to their sessions. Whether someone is seeking creative exploration, fitness and wellbeing, adventure-based learning, life skills development, confidence-building, or community engagement, our Specialty Mentor team offers a safe, grounded, and personalised space to grow. This service exists because we deeply recognise that one-size-fits-all support doesn’t work. Humans are diverse. Needs change. And true progress happens when people feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported by someone who aligns with their learning style, interests, and goals.

What Makes Our Specialty Mentors Unique?

Tailored to the Individual

Each mentor is matched to the client based on interests, therapeutic goals, personality fit, and NDIS plan objectives. This ensures support that feels natural, empowering, and genuinely enjoyable.

Skills, Passions & Professional Strengths

Our Specialty Mentors bring a wide range of offerings, such as:

  • Creative arts, music, woodwork & hands-on making

  • Fitness, outdoor adventures, community exploration
  • Social skills development & capacity building

  • Emotional regulation and resilience practices

  • Life transitions support
  • Nature-based mentoring

  • Problem-solving through real-world experiences

Each mentor is chosen for their ability to blend professional skill with empathy, patience, and a heart-centred approach.

Growth Beyond the Session

Every interaction is intentionally crafted to support meaningful progress — confidence, independence, emotional wellbeing, executive functioning, relationship skills, and self-trust. Clients don’t just “receive support,” they learn, experience, and grow.

All Specialty Mentors operate within the values of Life is for Living Mentoring:

  • Respect

  • Integrity

  • Independence

Crafting with Kylie

Kylie is a compassionate, creative, and resilient woman who brings an
incredible depth of empathy and understanding to the Life is for Living Mentoring team.

After experiencing a traumatic brain injury in 2020, Kylie courageously rebuilt her world one step at a time, transforming adversity into inspiration. Throughout her recovery, creativity became her sanctuary. Her love of art, craft, and meaningful connection guided her through life’s challenges and ultimately inspired her to pursue a career as an allied health professional. In 2021, as part of her rehabilitation journey,

Kylie achieved her goal of becoming qualified in her allied health field, blending her professional skills with her passion for creativity. Now, Kylie uses her qualifications, lived experience, and love of craft to inspire and empower others within our community. She helps individuals living with disabilities find a spark of joy and a sense of connection through creativity, fostering a safe space for self-expression and growth. We are deeply grateful to have Kylie as part of the Life is for Living Mentoring family.

Her journey is a testament to our core values of inclusion, compassion, and community, and she continually reminds us that creativity can be a powerful force for healing and joy.
